General Tips:

  • Use vinegar on stainless sinks and hard water spots.
  • Vacuum your house once a week for every person and twice a week for every animal. --Yes 2 pets and 2 adults you should only take Sundays off.
  • If one of your lovely pets decides to leave you with a mess as you are walking out the door just place a cold towel over it until you return from work ... most of the stain should be gone when you return from work.

Tips on how to keep your microwave clean:

  • Do not spray cleaning solution directly into the microwave. Spray it on a cloth or use paper towels. You can also try baking soda. Sprinkle a bit on the microwave bottom, then scrub the interior with a nice, damp cloth (dampen with warm water). This method won't scratch the surface.
  • To remove microwave odors, combine a cup of warm water with a half-cup of lemon juice (or fresh lemon slices) in a glass bowl. Heat to boiling in the microwave and remain boiling for three minutes. Keep the door closed afterward for 30 minutes. Remove the bowl and wipe it clean with paper towels. The microwave will be sparkling clean and will smell wonderful, too.
  • Another trick to remove odors is to add a half-cup of water and an equal amount of vanilla extract in a small bowl. Heat to boiling in the microwave, shut off, and don't open the microwave door for 12 hours or overnight.
